Franklin Heritage Trail

Mike , Ken, Bob, and Doug traveled to a predetermined bench location approximately 1 Km past St ANN”S Rec Site to install a cement bench.

Mike trailered and drove his equipment to the site. Doug transported the water and cement bench; Bob brought many hand tools and Ken brought the cement.

Bob and Ken met at Doug’s to load the heavy pieces of bench.

The bench, dedicated to Ron Walker, a Christina Lake resident, had been a project of the GF Woodworks. Many years ago, GF Wood Workers approached GFATV to see if the benches could be useful to GFATV.

GFATV hoped to install the benches along the Rail Trail between C.L. and Fife but was denied permission.

The club approached the family and received permission to install the bench on the Franklin Heritage Trail.

The location has a spectacular view and wildlife is in abundance, we are sure Ron would of loved this location.
