Family Fun Ride – Sunday, June 17th , 2018
Arrow lakes ATV Club will hold their annual Poker Ride again this year. Folks will be camping at the staging area from Wednesday, June 13th to Monday June 18th. The registration for the ride is Sunday, June 17th , from 9:00am till 10:00am. We hope to award the prizes and have our BBQ (by donation) from 4:00 pm on.
The staging area for the ride is at N50o 06.863’ W117o 54.499’. When you get off of the Arrow Park Ferry stay left and follow Stevens Road for 1km to the Old Sawmill on the right.
If you are planning to camp be aware that the clearance on the Arrow Park ferry is questionable. We have planks to help folks get their trailers on and off the ferry. 25 to 30 foot trailer is the max that can load.
Again, this year we will have a Point 2 Point ride, along with the poker ride. The Point 2 Point ride is free. The Point 2 Point ride is a bit of a hunt. Along the trail there will be a number of objects that should not be there. You are to record these objects that do not “belong in the wild”. Prizes will be awarded. Bring your lunch, water/juice, rain gear, camera and a chair for the BBQ.
There will also be an opportunity to use your GPS. GPS points have been set out and you can ride at your convenience, from Wednesday to Saturday. If you have a GPS this is your chance to use it and to explore the area. Bring your GPS and join in the fun!
Folks will be camping at the staging area. There are no facilities here so you need to be self contained. Everyone is welcome. Folks will be riding on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. If you are a geocacher there are lots of caches to find. You can also participate in our GPS rides. On Friday and Saturday, we will need to set up trail signs and do a small amount of trail work. There is active logging in the area during the week so we will have to stay out of their way.
Friday morning, before riding and trail work, there will be a community pancake breakfast. If you are coming for the day plan to arrive by 8:00am so you can enjoy breakfast with us.
On Saturday there is a Ladies ride. We will have a pot luck supper on Saturday. Bring your own meat to cook, and a salad or dessert to share with the group.
This year out theme is “Christmas” so bring a wreath for your trailer and some Christmas baking!
